Qigong & Tai Chi
Sometimes we can’t put a finger on why we practice Qigong or why it makes us feel better. There are a number of physiological changes that occur with this practice (that have been researched and proven). But outside of that, I have found that it has helped me to live more purposefully. Qigong helps me to be present in the moment and allows me to learn about myself so that I can put my best foot forward in life. Thank you for being on this journey with me! ~Anne
May Dates: Friday, May 12th, March 19th, and March 26th
8:00am: Tai Chi Bird Form – Come join our group for a mild to moderate intensity Tai Chi practice that follows a traditional movement flow. Big Bird form is the primary movement flow in this practice. It is intended to cover healing to our heart-mind or middle dantian (which is the energy center in our body that influences our emotional well-being). It does involve a bit more memorization and time to learn and requires some prior experience. It is primarily a flow best done in standing but can be accommodated to sitting. Medical Qigong practices of self-massage and meditation are still incorporated into the program but are less of the focus in this class.
9:00am: Medical Qigong – No prior experience is needed for this class. This is a low to non-impact movement and meditative program designed to do in sitting or standing. It requires almost no memorization and is easy to follow. It involves four baskets of practice including self-massage, breath, movement, and vision to improve healing within the body and cohesiveness within our bodily systems. Each month, the focus will change and could include: Balance and Fall Prevention, Stress Management, Pulmonary Health, Core and Spine Stability, Myofascial Release, and soon-to-come Pelvic Health
