Lisa Leibow , Pilates & Yoga Instructor
I began my journey on the mat in the early 1980’s after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Instead of going on medication for my MS, I decided to create a life of wellness and good health. After being introduced to Pilates and yoga, I realized I had found something special that made me feel better physically, emotionally and reduced stress from my everyday life. In 2003, after retiring from a 28 year career as an Audiologist, I decided to pursue my teacher certification in Pilates and yoga in order to share the physical and emotional healing powers which I have experienced for many years. I completed my Pilates mat certification in 2004 through Power Pilates. In 2009, I received my PMA (Pilates Method Alliance) certification completing the requirements to receive the Certified Pilates Teacher (CPT) designation. In 2011, I became a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher ( 200 RYT) certified through the Yoga Alliance.
By encouraging and teaching proper alignment, balance, breath, body awareness, and movement, I provide clients with a restorative, functional workout that can reverse the effects of gravity and aging. I love the challenge of finding the best way to motivate and engage clients so they are able to take what is learned “on the mat” to everyday movement and functionality and improving their quality of life.
